PATTY GILLIAM, 81, of Wayne, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023. She was born May 19, 1942, in East Lynn, W.Va., a daughter of the late Jennings Crockett and Esther Adkins Mann. Patty was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, cooking, camping, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends. She was also a devout follower of Jesus Christ and attended Wayne Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Hughie Ronald Gilliam; two sons, Daniel Mark Gilliam and an infant son Ronnie R. Gilliam; one great-grandson, Calvin Michael Gilliam with whom she made a home for until his passing; son-in-law Donald Ray Mullins; two sisters, Phyllis Ann Queen and Marlene Dean; and one brother Kenny Legnasky.
Patty leaves behind a son Rodney D. Gilliam of Wayne; two daughters, Sherri R. Mullins of Morehead, Ky., and Karen S. (Anthony) Maynard of Dunlow, W.Va.; one daughter-in-law Cathy Cutler Gilliam of Wayne; nine grandchildren, Jared (Jenny) Gilliam, Rebekah (Chris) Scott, Jacob (Candice) Gilliam, Brandon Gilliam, Shana Booth, Symantha Mullins, Garret (Keneisha) Mullins, Courtney (Matthew) Copley, and Taylor Maynard; along with 18 living great grandchildren. She loved all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren unconditionally. Patty was always their number one fan and will be sorely missed by them all.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House for their support and care. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Community Memorial Gardens with brother Danny Damron and Pastor Fred Ferguson officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Johnson Tiller Funeral Home.
