Pauline Eloise (Adkins) Combs

PAULINE ELOISE ADKINS COMBS, 70, of Lavalette, W.Va., passed away in the evening of Friday, January 27, 2023, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, after complications following surgery along with coexisting medical conditions. Pauline was born February 14, 1952, to Noah and Gladys Richardson Adkins, who preceded her in death, as did her eldest brother, Samuel Adkins.

      Pauline leaves behind her devoted and loving husband, Jerry Combs, Jr.; their three children, Fanny (Derrick) Gillespie, daughter Hannah of Huntington, WV and son Jared Combs of Charleston, W.Va.; beloved grandchildren, Oriana and Jacob Dellamalva of Pittsburg, Penn., and Jaden Plew of Lavalette; her sisters, Alice (Kenny) Osburn, Sandra Booton, Jenny Casteel, Peggy (Howard) Yost, Mollie (Paul) Craig, and Angie Dickerson; her brothers, Jim (Liz) Adkins, and John Adkins; sister-in-law Siddy Wickline; brothers-in-law, Bert (Sharon), and Duane (Peggy) Combs; as well as beloved nieces, nephews, many other family members and friends. 

     The family wishes to especially acknowledge the love and devotion of her sisters Alice Osburn, and Jenny Casteel who spent many hours at their sister’s bedside during her 40 days in intensive care. The family wishes also to thank the many doctors, nurses, and medical personnel for the excellent care given to Pauline while she was a patient in their facility. 

      As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Pauline placed her trust and belief for the future in the words spoken by Jesus when he said: “Do not marvel at his, for a time is coming when all those in their graves will hear his voice and come out.” John 5:28

      There will be a memorial service at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Johnson Tiller Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for contributions toward the final expenses.
