Richard Sizemore, Jr.

RICHARD SIZEMORE JR.  “DICKIE” “JR.”, 86, of Greenup, Ky., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.  He was born May 29, 1938, in Greenup County, a son of the late Richard Sizemore Sr. and Virginia Nelson Sizemore.  Also preceding him in death was a sister, Phyllis Juanita Abdon; and a brother-in-law M. Earl Turner.

                He leaves behind a sister Shirley L. Turner of Gueydan, La.; brother-in-law Jerry (Connie) Abdon of Greenup County; special friend Ann Stephens; several nieces, nephews, cousins; as well as other family members and a host of friends too numerous to mention.

                Richard was a proud veteran who served in the U.S. Army.  He was active in the GOTEM Tractor Club and loved spending time with the Bonzo family, volunteering at Imels Greenhouse, and the Greenup County Fairgrounds.  He was also President of the Del-Mar Hunt Club in Maryland for 51 years.

                Richard selflessly donated his body to the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine for the advancement of science and education.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.
