RONALD DOUGLAS STAMPER entered into the Kingdom of his Savior on December 15, 2023. He was born October 23, 1956, to the late Andy Lee Stamper and Hazel Lee Ferguson Stamper. Also preceding him in death is one brother, Andy Ray Stamper; three sisters, Joan Curnutte, Linda Finley and Teresa Stamper; and one nephew, Brandon Stamper.
Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Evelyn Jane Stamper “Abby”. Abby was the love of his life. It's rare in this life that we find that one true love and Ron and Abby found it in each other. Ron was blessed with three sons from this union, Ronald Brian and Kimberly Stamper of N.C., Justin David and Roxann Stamper of East Lynn, W.Va., and Tyler Douglas and Alexis Stamper of Prichard, W.Va. His love for his sons surpassed all except for his love of his grandchildren to which he had a special bond with each, Elijah, Meredith, Kiersten, Landon, Layla, Ethan, Cartier, Maxwell, Kaleb, Cayden, LouAnna, Justin “JD”, Jameson, Maverick and Aubrey Hazel; along with a few special kids that he loved and claimed as his own grandkids. Ron’s love for family was unmatched!
Also surviving is one sister, Gloria Jean and Don Sammons of Ceredo, W.Va.; two brothers Charles “Chuck” Stamper of Dunlow, and Barry and Becky Stamper of Prestonsburg, Ky.; and one brother-in-law, Lester Finley of Dunlow.
Ron was a graduate of Marshall University with a degree in accounting. During his college education, he worked for the West Virginia Department of Highways. After his education, he worked for Maximum Construction and then Marrowbone Development Company. Ron was the Past Master of Jewell Lodge #140 A.F. & A.M., and currently holds the position of Secretary. Another one of Ron’s passions was his love for woodwork. He was also a member of Perry Point Church in Crum, W.Va. Ron will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him!
Visitation will be held from 6-8- p.m., Tuesday at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home. Service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2023, with Pastor David Brewer and Tommy Meddings officiating. Masonic gravesite rights will follow at the Stamper Cemetery. Donations to assist the family with final expenses are appreciated and can be made by selecting the "Donations" tab above, or contacting the funeral home.
The family would like to give a Special Thank You to the following:
Bill and Addie Likens for always loving and supporting the Stamper family.
Jean and Don Sammons for opening your home up to them in the last few months. Especially to Jean for always being Ron’s travel buddy.
The Sowards family for always making them a part of all holiday and special events and for just being good friends in general.
The Salmons, Varney, and Marcum families for loving him like their own brother and being there when the family needed them the most.
The Stamper family for stepping in and handling the cemetery for the family. Also making memories with Ron with many hand and foot games!
