ROY GENE CALDWELL, 68, of Wayne, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2925. He was born October 9, 1956, in Huntington, W.Va., a son of the late William and Esta Caldwell. Also preceding him in death were two children, Adam Caldwell and Meshell Coleman; one brother, William App Caldwell; and one sister, Patty Stapleton. Roy was a US Army veteran and a retired heavy equipment operator with WV Dept. of Highways. Additionally, he was a member of Echo United Baptist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife, Rebecca Caldwell; one son, Obie Caldwell of East Lynn, W.Va.; two special stepchildren, Paige Roseberry (Nathan Adkins) of Wayne, and James Roseberry (Madison Fizer) of Genoa, W.Va.; eight beloved grandchildren, Isaiah Caldwell, Chase Caldwell, Eric Coleman, Haley Coleman, Noah Adkins, Tucker Adkins, and very special grandchildren Parker Adkins, and Paisley Roseberry; and four great grandchildren, Isaac, Aubrey, Evelyn, and Amaya.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mary and Ralph Damron, II of Wayne, and Debbie and Darrell Moore of South Point, Oh.; as well as nieces, nephews, family, and friends too numerous to mention.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2025, at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Elder Tommy Damron officiating. Burial will follow at Community Memorial Gardens with military honors performed by the American Legion Post 93. Visitation will begin at noon on Sunday.
