Russell lee Dorton

RUSSELL LEE DORTON, 70, of Huntington, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 18, 2022. He was born April 13, 1952 in Kenova, West Virginia, a son of the late James and June Dorton.  His wife of 47 years, Radean Gay Dorton also preceded him in death along with two brothers, John Weir and Douglas Meade.  Russell retired with 55 years of service from Marshall University Athletics Dept. and was a member of Faith Freewill Baptist Church in Lavalette where he served as trustee for many years.    

He leaves behind one son Jim Dorton, of Huntington, WV; sister Pat (Butch) Adkins, of Proctorville, OH; one brother Danny (Pat) Dorton of Greshom, Or.; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

A memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, September 26, 2022 at Faith Freewill Baptist Church, Lavalette with Brother Danny Roberts and Brother Phil Williamson officiating. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m.  Johnson Tiller Funeral Home is assisting the family.
