Russell Wayne Merritt

RUSSELL WAYNE MERRITT, 60, of Prichard, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. Russell was born April 17, 1965, in Houston, Texas to the late James “Harry” Merritt and Jewel Ann Merritt. Russell is also preceded in death by his brother Randall “Randy” Merritt and very close friend Joe Bowens.

Russell is survived by his 3 daughters, Jillian (Drew) Merritt, Caitlin Merritt, and Taylor (Markie) Marcum; his grandchildren, Aubrey Hundley, Ayden Merritt, Hazel Merritt, Damon Marcum, Cora Marcum, and Jasper Marcum; his brothers Ronald (Diana) Merritt, James “Bulldog” Merritt; his sister Joyce Adams; his nieces and nephews Misty Merritt, James “Jimbob” (Stephanie) Merritt, Brandon Merritt, Ronald “Little Ronnie” (Samantha) Merritt, Clyde (Brooke) Adams Jr., Jeffrey (Charity) Adams, Brittany (Alex) Domke; as well as a host of great nieces and nephews. Russell is also survived by his “Little Woman” Ruth Ann Kilpatrick.

Russell was known for his great sense of humor. He would always light the room up with his jokes. He was always a very happy man and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. 

            A graveside service will be held at noon on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Prichard- Dial Cemetery, Branchland where Russell will be remembered along with his brother Randy.  Arrangements entrusted to Johnson Tiller Funeral Home.
