SAMMY JOE HUTCHINSON, 86, of Wayne, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. He was born August 19, 1939, in Kenova, West Virginia, a son of the late Orge and Maggie Hutchinson. Also preceding him in death was his ex-wife and friend, Anna Hutchinson; one daughter Christy Bradshaw; and one grandson Logan Bradshaw.
He leaves behind three siblings, Jim (Jenny) Hutchinson of Ariz., Ed Hutchinson of Kenova, and Lois (Bob) Bellomy of Proctorville, Oh.; one daughter, Amy Phillips and her husband Scott Absten, of Wayne; five grandchildren, Payton (Anthony) Dillard of Chesapeake, Oh., Madi Hutchinson of Wayne, Paige (Alex) Carnell of Charleston, W.Va., Michael (Jessica) Phillips of Barboursville, W.Va., and Machala (Jared) Hunter of Wayne; nine very special great grandchildren; special life long friends Creed Adams, Audie (Patty) Stiltner, and Steven Fry; as well as several nieces, nephews; and a host of family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Harmony Free Will Baptist Church for their prayers and support. Donations are suggested to Hospice of Huntington.
Per his request, there will be no services. Arrangements entrusted to Johnson Tiller Funeral Home.
