SHARON SUE CHANEY, 75, of Huntington, W.Va. went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 13, 2026. She was born October 16, 1950, in Poca, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Nancy Frances and Early Lester Jeffries, Sr. Also preceding her in death was her son, Michael Wayne Chaney; two brothers, Early Lester Jeffries, Jr., and Leroy Jeffries; and one sister, Frances Jewell Armstead.
Sharon was a homemaker and enjoyed watching westerns, caring for her beloved pets, and making memories with her family.
She leaves behind two children, Barbara Lynn (Charlie) Moore of Wayne, W.Va., and Brian Eric Chaney of Huntington; four grandchildren, Brittany (Ryan) Moore of Wayne, Christopher (Morgan) Moore of Proctorville, Oh., Dakota (Claudia) Moore of Bellefontaine, Oh., and Kenneth (Lauren) Chaney of Lavalette, W.Va.; and two great grandchildren, Vivian and Auriella Moore, both of Bellefontaine.
Also surviving are three siblings, Josephine Faye Deal, Jerry Jeffries, both of Poca, W.Va., and Wanda Steorts of Sutton, W.Va.; as well as several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Sharon selflessly donated her body to the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine for the advancement of science and education.
