SUSIE STEVENS NORTH, 78, of Huntington, W.Va., devoted wife, and mother, and child of God, crossed her finish line and into her rest in the presence of the saints on Friday, July 1, 2022. She was born September 8, 1943, in Wayne, W.Va., to the late Burgess and Trudy Lett-Stevens. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, John Stevens, Samuel Stevens, and Timothy Stevens.
Surviving is her loving husband of 58 years, Frank North; sons Paul (Debbie) North, Phillip North, and James North; grandchildren, Austin, Madison, and Laney; sisters Roxie (Raymond) Akers, Judy (David) Thompson, and Renee (Mike) Smith; brothers Jack (Cookie) Stevens, Jesse Stevens, Vernon Stevens, David (Hope) Stevens, Mark (Wilma) Stevens, and Bo (Penny) Stevens; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Susie graduated from Buffalo (Wayne) High School and was a homemaker, opening her home to many children through the LINK program, loving each child as one of her own.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at the Kenova Church of Christ, 1801 Chestnut Street, Kenova, W.Va. where she was a faithful member, with Minister Chris Stevens presiding. Burial will follow in Spring Valley Memory Gardens. Visitation will begin at noon. The family would like to thank Johnson Tiller Funeral Home for all their assistance and Hospice of Huntington for the care they provided Susie in her final days.
