TAMMY JOAN PELFREY, 62, of Wayne, W.Va., passed away Monday, May 19, 2025, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. She was born February 22, 1963, in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of the late Joe and Lois Jean “Toots” Adkins. Her husband Dallas Ray Pelfrey also preceded her in death along with one brother Leon Adkins and one niece Karri Adkins. Tammy was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and painting.
She leaves behind one son, Sam (Lauren) Runyon of Huntington; three daughters, Shara (Devin) Bullard of Wayne, Jessi Pelfrey of Glen Fork, W.Va., and Erin (Brad) Palmer of Princeton, W.Va.; and 11 grandchildren Alexis, Addyson, Emma “Graham”, Forrest, Cheyenne, Halie, Taylor, Madison, Jinna, Lilly, and Sadie.
Also surviving are three brothers, Tim Adkins, Paul Adkins, and Leeroy Adkins all of Wayne; special friends Mary Ferguson and Ray “Smalls” Simpson, both of Wayne; and a host of family and friends too numerous to mention. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bobby Moore and the entire Palliative Care Team at Cabell Huntington Hospital for their care and support.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2025 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Adkins Family Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon.
