THELMA MILLS, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. She was born September 5, 1935, in Dunlow, W.Va., a daughter of the late James “Jim” and Nannie Crum. Also preceding her in death were daughters Thelma Ileane Preece and Peggy Ann Mills; brother J.C. Crum; sisters Brooke Baisden and Mary Richardson; grandson Jimmie Dickerson; and son-in-law Dolphy Dickerson.
Surviving is her husband of 71 years, Willis Mills; daughter Lora Dickerson; son James (Sherry) Mills; six grandchildren Katrina (Scott) Nelson, Drew Mills, Ashley (Melissa) Mills, Christopher Preece, Rebecca (Joe) Conley, and Amanda (Chris) Perry; 10 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
Also surviving are her siblings Angelene (Yonne) Stewart, Harold (Glenna) Crum, Herschel Crum, Tommy Crum, and Dianne Crum; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Spring Valley Freewill Baptist Church with Pastors Fred Ramey and Ronnie Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hills Cemetery, Kenova. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Johnson Tiller Funeral Home.
