TILLMON ALIFF, 73, of Genoa, W.Va., passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023 at home. He was born May 4, 1950, in Wayne, W.Va., a son of the late Fred and Dollie Aliff. His daughter Barbara Aliff Bowen also preceded him in death along with three sisters, Laura Haynes, Nannie Vaughan, and Virginia Lee Aliff; and two brothers, George Aliff and William Wayne Aliff. Tillman never met a stranger and loved to talk, trade and sell chickens.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years, Lois Aliff; one daughter, Virginia Lee (Rodney) Elliott of Genoa; five grandchildren, Everett Dwayne Bowen (Lydia) of Wayne, Laura Jean Bowen (Michelle) of Huntington, W.Va., Sebert Donnie Bowen of Wayne, Amber Brooke Salmons (Cody) of Columbus, Oh.; and Kelsey Dawn Bowen of Maryland; and three great grandchildren, Braylon Everett Bowen, Bobby Lee Bowen, and Morgan Elizabeth Salmons.
Also surviving is one sister, Marie Aliff Wooten of Wayne; several nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends too numerous to mention. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lydia Bowen and Kim Aliff for their care and support.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, September 18, 2023, at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Vaughan Mills Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Monday. Donations to assist the family are appreciated and can be made by selecting the "Donations" tab above.
