VERNON PERRY, 82, of East Lynn, W.Va., went to rest with the Lord on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was the son of the late Walter and Pansy Clay Perry. Also preceding him in death were two sisters, Eloise Woods and Lesie Diaz, and one brother, Robert Perry. Vernon was a member of Bethlehem United Baptist Church, and Ordained Minister for 45 years and a Pastor for 33 years.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, 9 months, and 4 days, Allie “Jean” Perry; three children, Donnetta (Larry) Johnson of East Lynn, Vernon D. (Teresa) Perry of Jerry’s Run, Stephen J. (Crystal) Perry of S.C.; 14 grandchildren, Scott, Kayla, Chrissi, Chad, Tiffany, Brittany, Tara, Josh, Stephen Kyle, Megan, Haylee, Whitney, and Kyle; and 12 great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Liam, Riley, Amery, Tres, Kaidyn, Gracynn, Brody, Avery, Parker, Amelia, and Arahlynn.
Also surviving are seven brothers, Bernard, Herman, Seiburn, Sam, Andrew, Walter Jr., and Ralph; two sisters, Erma and Sally; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a thank you to Pat Napier, Jamie Drake, and special friend Wayne Parsons, as well as all the family and friends who so generously gave their time and love.
Due to current social guidelines, Private Graveside Services will be held for the family with Rev. Jason McComas and Pastor Rev. Jamie Clay officiating. Johnson Tiller Funeral Home is honored to serve the Perry family.
