WILLIAM APP CALDWELL, 69, of Genoa, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 4, 2023. Born January 22, 1954, in West Hamlin, W.Va. App was retired from Consumer Gas & Utility with 21 years of service and a member of Salem United Baptist Church in Wayne. Preceding him in death was his father, William Caldwell; one sister, Patty Gale Stapleton; and one brother-in-law, Paul Anderson.
Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Cheryl Caldwell; one son, William Gordon (Kandace) Caldwell of Genoa; and grandsons, Jackson Gage Spears and Alex Trenton Spears, both of Kentucky, and Jonathon Taylor of Genoa. Also surviving is his mother Esta Caldwell, of Wayne; one brother Roy (Rebecca) Caldwell, also of Wayne; two sisters, Debbie (Darrell) Moore of South Point, Oh., and Mary (Ralph) Damron of Wayne; several nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends too numerous to mention. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Hospice of Huntington for their care and support.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Elders Tony Clay and Roger Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery Annex. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday.
