Woodie Lee Rice

WOODIE LEE RICE, 82, of Wayne, W.Va., passed away Friday, September 24, 2021 at St. Mary’s Medical Center.  He was born November 24, 1938, in Huntington, W.Va., a son of the late Samuel and Olive Rice.  One daughter, Beverly Ann Rice, also preceded him in death. Woodie was a retired from Carpenters Local 302

            Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Ida Watts Rice; one daughter, Teresa Rice-Smith and her husband Glenn of Wayne; one granddaughter, Summer Bandle; one great granddaughter, Carleigh Danielle Bandle, both of Palm Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Juanita (David) Farmer of Knoxville, Tenn.; and Violet Rice of Wayne; as well as a host of friends and loved ones.

            Private funeral services for the family were held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Evangelist Luther Dingess officiating. Burial followed in Community Memorial Gardens.
